Sin and Kidney Stones

Posted on August 25, 2026 by Deborah

I had an intense battle with kidney stones in 2024. I was incapacitated with pain every 3 days. After 4 hours it would usually subside but the fear of return always lingered.

I swallowed my pride and talked to my naturopath about them. She put me on a supplement regime with 12 extra pills and 2 tinctures to take each day. She also told me to go vegan for 3-4 days and not eat any type of nuts for a week.

That night, I was sick with pain again.

The following week held the worst brain fog of my life. I was low energy, disorganized, and very nutrient deficient from not knowing how to feed myself without meat and nuts – especially peanut butter.

But while the fog was so thick, I realized something: I wasn’t in pain! I couldn’t function cognitively, but I also wasn’t lying on the bathroom floor for hours at a time!

I knew I had to eat meat again, but I went slowly. Because my kidney felt nervous.

I don’t know if you’ve ever had an organ feel nervous, but it’s weird.
