Author: Deborah

Hi, I’m Deborah! I am a stay-at-home, home schooling mom in Western Montana. I am a self-help junkie and a minimalist - even if only in my mind. I love learning different ways to think and relate to people, all filtered through the love of Christ. I am writing for my own journey to become more intentional with my time, my words, and my relationships with people and with things. This blog is my way of fighting against my own perfectionistic tendencies by finally launching after dreaming about it for so long. I am wife to Jeff, since 2013. We have three beautiful children, ages 5, 3, and 1. I hope you’ll follow along in my journey of Keeping Home Simple!

Do you remember back when social media was nice and people actually shared their person thoughts, not just links to someone else’s? Yeah, it’s been a while. One of those pleasant things that caught on in my friend circle was to post one thing you were thankful for, each day in November. It was always…

Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.“‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It is hard to know what to expect the first time you do something with your kids. Like scheduling them for the dentist and navigating cavities, or celebrating holidays in a way…

“In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.“‭‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ I am starting my first serious year of homeschooling. Wise Counsel from Proverbs

“Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7 NKJV I’m realizing lately that I’m different in how I think and converse with others. I’ve always believed that “friend therapy is the best therapy.” I’ve been told countless times that I would be a good therapist, that…

Sometimes, when God speaks it is a lightning bolt moment. I have had a few of those in my life and this one is in regards to reading my Bible. When I was a new mom, I knew I needed to read my Bible more. I hadn’t been in a practice of reading my Bible…

”She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.“‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Ruthlessly declutter.” I’ve heard that a hundred times. I’ve done that with my clothes, shoes, and kitchen appliances. I’ve decluttered papers to be down to very few and only important ones. I have even decluttered what ingredients…
